MGS Peace Walker Preview

I got my hands with the demo of MGS Peace Walker that was released at the Tokyo Game Show and this game is amazing. The only problem is that I don't understand the storyline because it's all in Japanese. Now when this game comes out next year I'm calling this as being the game of the year for the PSP, unless something else mind blowing comes out that year.

Gameplay is like any other MGS game. You have all your items, weapons, and the return of the famous cardboard box. The face buttons control your camera, left trigger brings up your weapon, and right trigger fires it. Just press the right trigger and you can do some CQC moves. Hold it down behind an enemy and you can either put him to sleep by keep the right trigger down or toss him by moving the analog stick. In this demo there are four missions that you can play and three of them you can play Co-op if your friends also have the demo in the immediate area.

There is a tutorial that teaches you the basics of CQC and moving around. The first level actually throws you into a mission. It starts you off at a beach, then you work your way through the jungle, taking out enemies along the way. The second level also puts you in the jungle but this time there are more enemies that make it a challenge to get through with an A or S ranking.(which will unlock wallpapers) That level ends with you having to take out a small docking port full of what seems like PMC's. The third level has you fighting a tank and truthfully its the level I'm currently stuck at.(I keep on running out of ammo!!!)

Overall I think this game is going to be amazing, and just from the third level I feel like they Kojima Productions are really trying to push Cooperation which is a great thing. One thing I didn't note above is the fact that you can change your equipment before you take on a mission. There are 4 equipment changes in the demo and they are the Battle Dress,Sneaking Suit, Jungle Fatigues, and Naked. The Battle Dress is basically Snake in heavy armor with heavy guns. The Sneaking Suit gives Snake more items to help him sneak around with also you get a shield just in case you suck at sneaking. Jungle Fatigues seems like just a normal dress with the normal equipment you would expect Snake to have. The final Naked option is just the Battle Dress without all the armor.
